Historical Society
Mission
The Canterbury Historical Society’s mission is to preserve Canterbury’s heritage and sense of community.
- You can contact us via email
- All residents of Canterbury are automatically members of the Canterbury Historical Society.
- There are many ways in which you may become involved. We are in need of docents for our shows and exhibits; individuals to help us digitize and organize our Archive Collection; folks who would like to help in building our oral and visual archive of Canterbury residents; assistants in our One Room Schoolhouse project (the only one of its kind in the nation); anyone who would enjoy assisting in the many and various administrative duties required to fulfill our mission; become a member of our Board of Directors, or help on special projects. You would be most welcome and you will have a rewarding and enriching experience!...and it is allot of fun!
- The Society is committed to bringing the history of our Town to young people, which is why we are so involved with our Canterbury school children.
